Selling Tips

Getting your property photo-ready

The best way to make your property stand out from the rest is with stunning photography and video. Our photos speak for themselves, from vast aerial drone shots to the smallest shots of unique features.

Here are our top tips to make sure your home sells itself through images:

  • Outside: move cars, bins, bikes and mow any lawn. Cleaning the windows and even shining up the door furniture will make a big difference.
  • Inside: declutter everywhere and make it as light as possible, replacing bulbs that have gone and opening up blinds and curtains to their max. Flowers or a full fruit bowl can add some colour to photos.
  • Bathroom: hide all the products away in a cupboard, close the toilet lid, fold or hang the towels neatly.
  • Kitchen: clean, clean, clean, then hide the rest! No pet’s bowls on the floor, no fridge magnets, no bins, or cleaning products on show.
  • Bedrooms: make the beds as if you were a 5-star hotel! No clothes or washing piles, hide the lot in the wardrobe. Make sure all the drawers are neatly closed and nothing is visible under the beds.
  • Living room: tasteful coffee table books are fine, but lose all the magazines, piles of post, kids’ toys etc as much as you can. Any cushions or throws should be neatly arranged on the sofa.

Viewers find it very difficult to look past belongings and clutter, they really want to see a blank canvas and imagine their things in your home. It might feel unnatural for a couple of days, but the impact in the photography will be worth it.
